How this helps your brand

Make a routine check happen at the right time with a clear deliverable and an end condition. Review a sample before depending on delivery.

  1. Step 1: Define a specific deliverable

Choose a weekly summary of a practice status file. State which file to read, what the summary must contain, and where it should appear. Decide how missing data should be reported.

  2. Step 2: Create the job in plain language

Ask Hermes to schedule the task with an explicit timezone, frequency, destination, and end date. Hermes supports one-time and recurring jobs, with controls for inspecting, editing, pausing, and removing them.

  3. Step 3: Check the saved schedule

Ask Hermes to show the job and its next run time. Verify the timezone and output destination. The gateway executes due jobs, so a sleeping or stopped host cannot be assumed to deliver on time.

Use hermes cron list and hermes cron status to inspect the scheduler from a terminal.

  4. Step 4: Test delivery and pausing

Ask for a test run and compare the output with the source file. Pause the job, inspect its saved state, and confirm it will not continue unintentionally. Review provider usage after the test.

You're done when

  • A test run produces the requested output in the right place.
  • The saved job has the intended timezone and can be paused.
