Turn a useful Gemini prompt into a recurring routine, such as five website content ideas each Monday. You will check its schedule, inspect the first delivered result, and learn how to pause it.

Before you start

  • A signed-in Gemini account with schedules available. Google is gradually expanding access to personal accounts; work and school accounts need a qualifying Google Workspace edition.
  • Keep Activity turned on. Schedules are unavailable when it is off, and you can have up to 10 active schedules.
  • A repeatable request, a delivery time, a time zone, and a place to review the result. This exercise uses content ideas without requiring another connected app.

Skills you’ll need: Test a request, confirm the saved schedule, and review a delivered result and the pause controls.

How this helps your brand

A recurring set of relevant website ideas can keep useful customer questions visible in your planning. Turning selected ideas into checked pages gives the routine a business purpose beyond generating more suggestions.

  1. Step 1: Try the request before repeating it

At gemini.google.com, ask for one sample result first. For example: “Give me five practical blog ideas for a local bicycle repair shop, each with an audience question and a suggested heading.”

Adjust the sample until its length and subject are useful. Avoid a routine that depends on minute-by-minute facts; Gemini prepares scheduled content in advance, so rapidly changing information may already be out of date at delivery.

  2. Step 2: Ask Gemini to create the schedule

Send the prompt below with the recurrence, clock time, and named time zone filled in. Gemini should reply with a schedule summary. Read it carefully, especially the days and delivery time.

Use an unambiguous instruction such as “every Monday at 9:00 a.m., America/Toronto.” If the summary differs, correct it in that schedule’s chat before relying on the routine.

Illustrated exampleCheck the rhythm, clock time, and time zone

Example scheduling request“Every Monday at 9:00 a.m., America/Toronto, give me five website content ideas for a local bicycle repair shop.”

The rhythm you should see in the summary
    1. Mon
    2. Tue
    3. Wed
    4. Thu
    5. Fri
    6. Sat
    7. Sun
Then the next Monday, and each Monday after.
    Delivery time
    9:00 a.m.
    Named time zone
    America/Toronto
This example repeats weekly. Read Gemini’s schedule summary against all three details before relying on the routine.
  3. Step 3: Confirm that it appears in Scheduled

Open Scheduled in the web app’s sidebar and find your new entry. Inspect its instructions and timing. An ordinary answer saying what a routine could do is not the same as a saved schedule.

If scheduling is unavailable, check account access, Keep Activity, and your number of active schedules. If the feature has not reached your account, keep the tested prompt for manual use and retry when access is available.

    2 Timing

A saved entry is the checkpoint. Compare both fields with your request. A chat reply describing a routine is not enough.

This is an illustrated entry, not an exact Gemini screenshot. Confirm that your own entry exists and that its instructions and timing match your request.
  4. Step 4: Review a delivered result

After the first scheduled delivery, open Scheduled or the schedule’s chat, which is marked unread when a result is ready. Check that the response follows your requested format and is useful for that week.

For content ideas, look for specific reader questions and remove repetitions. Ask in the schedule’s chat to revise future instructions if the result is too broad. If you later add a request involving another app, that app must be connected.

Turn a useful idea into a website task: choose the customer question, the page it belongs on, approved facts still needed, and the next action for the reader. Use the service-page or blog-post guide to draft it, then review and publish through your normal website process. For an enquiry-generating page, test its intake and follow-up route too. This schedule produces suggestions; it does not update the site or prove that visits or enquiries increased.

    Why it helps

Specific reader need All three fields Check for repeats
If future ideas need narrowing, reply in the schedule’s chat

“Focus future runs on everyday commuter questions. Avoid repeating topics from the previous delivery.”

One of the five ideas is shown here. Check every idea for the requested fields, usefulness, and repetition; refine future instructions in the same schedule’s chat.
  5. Step 5: Pause a routine you do not need

On Scheduled, hover over the entry and choose More, then Pause. Use Resume there when you want it to run again. To remove it permanently, use More, then Delete.

If expected results stop arriving, check whether the schedule is paused; Google can turn schedules off after inactivity. Review its settings before resuming. Keep only routines whose output you actually use.

You're done when

  • A saved entry in Scheduled shows the intended request, recurrence, and delivery time.
  • At least one scheduled response has arrived and you checked its content against the requested format.
  • You located the pause control and left the schedule active or paused according to your needs.

COPY AND PASTE

Create a recurring schedule for [day or recurrence] at [time and named time zone]. Each time, give me five website content ideas for [business type] aimed at [audience]. For each, include one audience question, a suggested page or article heading, and one sentence explaining its usefulness.

Use this business context: [services and topics to cover]. Avoid [topics to exclude]. Do not invent business facts or publish anything. Keep the result under 300 words. Summarize the saved schedule and its delivery time so I can check them.

Paste into the Gemini web app after checking that a sample of the underlying request is useful. Fill in the schedule and business details first.
