Ask Gemini Enterprise a focused question about your company’s documents, then check the answer against its sources. You will leave with a short internal brief that separates documented facts from unanswered questions.

Before you start
- Access to an organization-provided Gemini Enterprise web app and its sign-in instructions. This walkthrough follows Google Cloud’s Standard, Plus, Pay-as-you-go, and Frontline documentation; Business edition has separate help.
- An administrator who has provisioned your access and connected the relevant company content. Which sources and features you can use depends on that setup and your permissions.
- One document you already know you can open, its exact title, and a narrow question; for example, what a website launch checklist requires before launch.

How this helps your brand
Answers grounded in the current company policy help people follow a consistent process. Checking the original passages and unresolved questions supports decisions that match the rules your business has approved.
Step 1: Open your organization’s app
Use the Gemini Enterprise address supplied by your organization and sign in with the assigned work account. If access is denied, ask your administrator to check the account and app access before continuing.
Keep a known document open separately. You will use it to check whether Gemini finds the right information, rather than judge the answer only by how convincing it sounds.
Step 2: Ask one question with a document name
Type your question in the assistant’s chat box. Include the exact document title, project name, and the decision you need to make. For example: “Using Website Launch Checklist, what evidence do we need before approving the new home page?”
Ask for a source for each requirement and for gaps to be called out. Start with a question whose answer you partly know; this makes an incorrect document or outdated policy easier to notice.
Step 3: Open the evidence before using the answer
For a response with supporting sources, click Sources at the end of the latest answer. Hover over a listed source to see the supported portion, then open the underlying material to check it in context.
Compare the title, relevant passage, date or revision information, and any exceptions. A cited sentence about a draft process may not establish the current rule. Keep separate notes for confirmed requirements and unresolved points.
Tip: The Sources button belongs to the latest grounded response. Earlier inline citation chips remain, but the previous Sources button can disappear after a follow-up.

- 1Right document?
The exact title matches the question.
- 2Current revision?
Check the date and confirm this version with the owner.
- 3Right scope?
The passage covers the home page. It does not approve campaign pages.
The passage supports the menu test. Confirm the revision before retaining the requirement.
This fictional source shows what to inspect: the exact title, the revision, and the scope around the highlighted passage. A citation helps you find evidence; you still need to confirm it applies. - 1
Step 4: Recover a missing or irrelevant result
If Gemini cannot find your document, try its exact title and a distinctive phrase from it. Check that you can still open it yourself. Ask the administrator whether its source is connected if repeated searches miss known content.
Do not treat a missing result as proof that a policy does not exist. Record the gap and ask the document owner where the current version lives. If two sources disagree, ask Gemini to show both positions and verify the conflict with that owner.
Step 5: Draft a brief from the checked facts
Ask a follow-up that turns only the checked requirements into a short checklist. For each item, keep its source and what evidence would demonstrate completion. Put unanswered questions in their own list.
Save the brief in an approved work location and retain references to the source documents. Have the responsible person resolve any gaps before using it to approve work.

You're done when
- The answer refers to the intended company documents and you can open its supporting material.
- Every retained requirement matches a passage you checked, with conflicts and missing information recorded.
- You have a saved internal brief with source references and a list of questions for the document owner.

Using our connected company sources, answer this question: [specific decision or question]. Start with [exact document title] for [project or team]. For each requirement, give the source document and the passage that supports it. Distinguish documented requirements from suggestions. Call out missing evidence, conflicting versions, and any uncertainty about which policy is current. Do not infer approval from missing information. Finish with a short checklist and questions I should take to the document owner.
